High Score - But Not Rightfully

The staff was very unkind, unpleasant, not very service oriented and not at all patient for tourists who don't speak their language. The hotel is very far from the town center and from the old city, where "everything's going on" - in fact, it's exactly on the opposite side of the city (it's only close to the Teleferic for Monte Igueldo, which you should definitely go see, but it's better to walk there on the beautiful promenade and have the rest of your visit close to the shops, restaurants and the amazing S.Sebastian Aquarium and Naval Museum (for those who's interested). The San Sebastian (Oddidental) Hotel was a complete disappointment, and I would never recommend it to anyone who's in town for good times, and anyone who's not Spanish. We ended up trying to cancel the rest of our stay (and wasn't successful, again, the staff was very hard to get along with) and they charged us anyway. The place was so bad that we ended up paying double, just to stay in a different hotel (Pension Almeda, which is awesome and right in the heart of the old city, 3.5 mins walk from the beach and the port, 6 mins from the trail to the top of Monte Urgull (which is also recommended), approx. 20 mins From the other side of the city, where Monte Igueldo is and right on he main street of the old city, which name's I cannot currently remember. Don't stay in Hotel San Sebastian (Occidental)!
